Yano Hinaki returns with new solo album ‘Flac’
On September 25th, Yano Hinaki will return with a new solo album, Flac. It will be his first release in four years, and his first since moving back to his native Japan.
Flac is a departure from the folk-influenced sound of Hinaki’s previous work. Instead, it finds him exploring a more electronic soundscape. The album’s first single, “Sakura”, is a perfect example of this new direction. The song is built around a driving bassline and sparkling synths, with Hinaki’s delicate vocals floating above it all.
While the new sound may take some fans by surprise, it’s a natural progression for Hinaki. He has always been a forward-thinking artist, and Flac is yet another example of his willingness to experiment. This is an album that is sure to delight both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
